Fit Fitness Into Your Day
No comments yet - CommentLuv enabled! Urban Fashion and Urban CultureThe latest fitness craze is short bursts of extremely intense workouts, and experts are saying that these types of workouts are great for our bodies. In opting for quick workouts, people sometimes wonder if 10 minutes is long enough to be effective. Effectiveness of your workouts depends upon what type of exercises you do and what kind of intensity you put into your shorter workout. You will want to keep yourself focused and really moving for the entire ten minutes. It’s tough, but remember it will be over soon. Think about it this way: if you normally put in a so-so effort for 30 or 40 minutes, you can get the same effect in ten minutes by really cranking up your effort. Keep your intensity level at its absolute peak for your shorter workouts for great results.
The ten minute plan is excellent to get in your cardio workouts! Any cardio will work if you work intensely at it.
Think about things that are really hard – running up stairs, jumping jacks, cycling with high speed and high resistance, intense spinning, stepping machines and gliders, running sprints, walking at your top speed. These are the types of things you’ll want to do in order to quickly get your heart rate up, which is your goal in these types of workout sessions. Some other ideas are intense dancing, lunges, squat jumps, and walking up hills. Gym cardio machines will work as well at a high intensity, as will taking your energetic dog for a very brisk walk.
Ten minute weight lifting workouts are also great if you keep moving and get in the maximum number of reps in your shorter workout. Pick out 3 or 4 of your favorite exercises and concentrate on those for the session instead of bouncing around, and maximize your time with those few exercises.
You can switch them out for the next session and keep going.
The key to making these types of exercise sessions work for you is really cranking up the intensity and keeping it optimized for the entire ten minutes.
