Santa Baby (short Story)

by TMAB2003

We have two girls and one boy and they all had given us memorable pregnancy moments. The youngest which is the son, was the most laborious and outlandish experience we ever had.
On my wifes first month of pregnancy, she was bugging me for eggnog every day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, eggnog always accompanies the meal. The recycle bin was so full of eggnog boxes. How I wished there were some promo attached for a vacation in each of the box. For sure, we would win for the month.
I was relieved when in May she didnt ask for eggnog instead she wanted gingerbread cookies. For goodness sake, where could I find gingerbread cookies? I had no choice but to make it on my own. Ive never baked but at that time I was obliged to do it or else I would not have a son. Every night, I would bake about twenty gingerbread cookies and that lasted for a month.
When June came, I finally retired with my gingerbread cookie making. This time, my beloved wife requested to have a Christmas tree inside the house. I rummaged through the basement to get the Christmas tree we had last year. Whenever we have guests in the house, they give us odd looks for the Christmas tree standing right in the middle of our living room.
By July, it got worse, she begged me to decorate the Christmas tree. Together with my two lovely daughters, we went about following orders from their mom as to how we would decorate the Christmas tree.
August was the month when Christmas was in the air. Twenty four hours, my beautiful wife would play Christmas songs and even in my car Christmas CDs were piled up on the dashboard.
Snowman was the man for September. Since there was still no snow around, I was forced to buy a snowman balloon to be put in front of our house.
I was astounded to find out a ,000 bill on credit card on October. When I checked it, my wife had started her Christmas shopping in advance. Our house was filled with boxes upon boxes of gifts.
Ever got a reindeer as your pet? We did. As it turned out, my beloved demanded a reindeer so I rented Rudolph for the whole of November.
December. Finally, we came to the finale of this bizarre pregnancy. I became Santa Clause. Yes! My wife wished for Santa Clause to be there when she gives birth. Thus, I had to wear Santa Clause costume and be Santa Clause. Funny it seemed, but then at midnight of December 24, Santa came out. Im talking about our Santa, the youngest child of ours. Santa baby it is.

The Fortune Cookie Has Predicted Chinese Food Delivery This Weekend

No comments yet - CommentLuv enabled! Urban Fashion and Urban Culture

The contents of a fridge tell a lot about the occupants of a house. Or, if the fridge contains a pint of milk and a lump of cheese, maybe the subject of culinary analysis cannot cook and will not cook. At least his talents will extend to ordering Chinese food delivery from his favourite takeout.

Sometimes Oriental cooking trumps everything else, no contest. Mexican has its moment and pizza can sometimes just seem like bread and cheese, but the good old Chinese set dinner for four can offer so much more.

The range of dishes from dim sum finger delights to rice and noodle dishes of tremendous variety can provide a family feast that is ideal for sharing. The Chinese see the sharing of a meal almost as a communication of love, and boy we do love to chow as well.

Planning A Fancy Dress Party : A Short Guide

No comments yet - CommentLuv enabled! Urban Fashion and Urban Culture

Fancy dress parties, or costume parties as they are called in the US, are popular all over the world. They are unique gatherings at which revelers can toss their troubles aside for the night as well as become someone altogether different beneath a mask. Costumes are terrific ways in which people can truly let their personalities out and mingle without care. Inhibitions are lost under the guise of the costume. When it comes time for you to host a fancy dress party, what do you need to consider to make yours a success?

In order to get things going in a certain direction, you can decide on a theme. Pick a theme that is well known and that almost all of the guests can relate to. Throwing a comic book or superhero party provides a starting point for guests that they will certainly be comfortable with. Choosing a particular time in history is another theme that many people have fun with. Specific decades such as the 70′s and 80′s are often a hit with party goers. Themes afford guests the chance to enjoy one another’s costumes with common reference points and give those who are otherwise strapped for ideas suggestions from which they can get ideas. More people can join in the fun this way.

You should also bear in mind the occasion that you are celebrating with your fancy dress party. This will help you decide who to invite. For instance, if it is a Christmas party at which gifts will be exchanged or just to get friends together, inviting children might be a good idea. Halloween, on the other hand, can go both ways. For kids, all sorts of games can be set up for them to enjoy, and small prizes can be handed out for the best costume. If it is an adults only party, however, costumes will likely be a little more risqu and alcoholic beverages may make an appearance.

Having Your Cupcakes And Ingesting Them, Too

Baking is most likely one of the hardest things that I’ve tried to do. Unlike cooking, baking involves more attention and you desire to make sure that each and every substance that you are using is generally assessed exactly as stated on the recipe. In case you do not follow the information as it’s in the recipe book, you are going to most likely end up with another merchandise that is either not edible or a little too different from the finished merchandise that you are supposed to come up with. I have tried to alter and play around with some baking recipes and I could only tell you so much concerning it.

Unlike the other well-known pastry chefs around who played with baking recipes and came up with new products that were widely accepted by the consumers, the products that I came up with as a result of playing around with the baking ingredients are not really that enticing enough to eat. Most of them came out flat, too hard or too soft to eat. I just can’t come up with a very good accidental recipe that tasted so much better than the original one.

I really don’t know what happened with the last batch of cupcakes I made. Well, the cupcake itself was good and almost perfect. The part where I had problems with was with the frosting. I was thinking of a whole new way to prepare your cupcake frostings by whipping up some cream and a lot of butter. I know it could’ve tasted awful if only I had enough courage to taste it because the thing is, I forgot to put sugar and that explains why it didn’t stand out that well. The butter and whipped cream mixture wasn’t good enough to form peaks and I doubt that kids would even love them since adults won’t even touch them.
