Haute couture is every woman’s and designer’s high fashion fantasy. Haute couture has to do with the most exquisite clothing created. In 1868, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture was created to enforce rules involving fabrics, numbers of employees, and numbers of designs for day and evening wear. By the mid-20th century, more than 100 haute couture houses competed earnestly for well-heeled clientele by following the stringent set of rules: sewing by hand, with employees who are French, in ateliers that are French, in France. They began somewhat unstylishly in the midst of a worldwide depression but ended as a dazzling and influential decade of haute couture.

The name Prada stands for stunning shoes and clothing, designer handbags and, above all, high style and luxury. The company’s history goes back about a century, but it’s always been known for the elegance and class of its designs. The Prada perfume Amber is no exception.
In 1913, The House of Prada was started by Mario Prada. Shoes, handbags, suitcases and trunks he designed were sold in Milanese boutiques. Ultimately, the company expanded its market and began selling its products throughout Europe and the U.S.
Control of the company was assumed by Mario’s granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, in 1978. Previously a mime, she had spent five years mastering her art at Milan’s renowned Teatro Piccolo. She also held a Ph.D. in political science. Despite Miuccia’s unusual background, the people surrounding her could see that her sense of fashion was impressive. In fact, she helped the company become one of the world’s leaders in haute couture even though it was no stranger to financial difficulties.

He is writing on behalf of R.A.G., the New York clothing store which specializes in urban wear such as graphic t-shirts, plaid shorts, and baby doll t-shirts. R.A.G. was established in 1959, has 5 locations in Manhattan, including one at Times Square.
Graphic t-shirts enter the world of haute couture
It was only 15 years ago when teenagers were still seen wearing Nirvana band t-shirts showing off their adoration for the grunge band lead by Kurt Cobain. These t-shirts were seen as un-stylish, over-sized, and definitely not acceptable in any New York nightclub (not that these kids were trying to get in). That was back then. Today, brands from Armani to American Eagle carry graphic t-shirts that are both stylish and are completely acceptable elements of fashionable clothing. This has happened for many reasons, mainly due to changes in t-shirt manufacturing, but also in the mindset that it is okay to pay over $10 for a tee.
